Updating adm files

This is different from Chromium which does not ship with this functionality. While it is usually recommended to keep the updating feature enabled, mostly for security reasons, you sometimes may need to disable the automatic updates, for instance when Chrome is deployed in a company network or if you want to thoroughly test updates before they are installed on live systems. When administrators create and open Group Policies using the “Administrative Templates” nodes in GPE, GPE refers to that SYSVOL folder to gather its information. Storing it this way has some disadvantages – like using a whole lot of disc space and replication bandwidth when 4MB of ADM templates _per policy_ get replicated to other (maybe off-site) DCs.

The second policy has an impact: you need to make sure all admin stations have the same level of updates and OS level – since admin A could use XP SP2 and create some XP SP2-specific policy settings admin B cannot view with his XP SP1 machine-ADMs.

At a high level, the steps include: The GPO must be propagated to the Active Directory Global Catalog and then to the individual computers.

For this reason, allow 5-10 minutes before restarting the computers to which you are assigning the Acrobat software, or plan to restart the client computers twice before the system policies are synchronized.

Removing Acrobat products by using GPOs requires unlinking the Active Directory OU from the GPO currently enabling the software to run.

To remove Acrobat products that are assigned to a computer, unlink the GPO from the OU, or remove the computer from the OU and GPO.
